There we have it, folks. We officially have zero participants remaining with an unblemished sheet. Congrats to Eli & Owen MacKim, who both have correctly picked seven of the eight contests so far.

Furthermore, I'd like to tip a cap to longtime BBPEE participant Dan Bailey, for his astonishing selections resulting in just a single correct pick.

Also, Angie Guidi, the namesake of the aptly labeled "Angie Guidi Lack of Achievement Award" finds herself near the top of the board.

Sadly, there are no inter-collegiate football games for us to enjoy today. We'll be back tomorrow from Tampa for the Gasparilla Bowl between Central Florida & Marshall.

Updated Standings - thru December 20th

Only 18 out of 149 entries correctly predicted the collective MAC beatdowns in Friday's bowl tilts. Sixteen others watched as their Bowl Pick 'Em fates got off to horrendous 0-2 start. It's a good thing Ohio State didn't have to play any of these monsters of the MAC this year. Oh wait, they did. They played the MAC champion and put up 76 points.

Moving on...Rick James Williams sits atop our leaderboard with 70 points. You should know, however, that nobody has ever gone wire to wire. Tons of bowl action today starting at 2:00 PM with more MAC football -- Central Michigan and San Diego St. get the pleasure of traveling to lovely Albuquerque for the New Mexico Bowl. You ever been to Albuquerque? I have, my brother lives there. This game will come down to whichever team has the strongest lungs. Thin air out there, folks, impossible to breathe.

Baddest Bowl Pick 'Em Year 14 is Underway!

Okay, it's 1:50 PM and the forms are all in. I have 148 entries this year, by far the biggest bowl pool I've ever done. Attached to this e-mail is the master pick sheet. This is the Ferrari of manually-run bowl pool systems and is currently pending review at the United States Patent Office. So don't try to knock it off for your stupid March Madness pools.

I'm only gonna send this out once, so you are welcome to follow along on your own if you want. Otherwise, my daily updates will come via blog posts, with the link send out to your e-mail address. The quality of my blog posts are a direct reflection of the magnitude of my hangover on any given day.

The "Standings" tab is self-explanatory. This is where I keep track of points, points possible, number of correct picks, and there's a meaningless column that denotes how many Vegas favorites you selected. (The sweet spot for winners is usually somewhere in the high 20's, but weird stuff has happened before). I also denote whether you've paid or not; so hit me up if you have actually paid and I don't have it acknowledged.

The "Picks" tab is the meat of the pool. Columns G & J will show you the % of participants who selected each team, and the average confidence points for those selections. Sometimes you will want to root against your picks to keep the field from gaining ground on you. For instance, 84.8% of participants have Buffalo in this opener at an avg. confidence point rating of 17.1. Michael Kerins picked Buffalo, but only with 3 confidence points. So he should be a Charlotte fan today. This is a little art, a little science, and a whole lotta luck, folks.

We have a lot of new names this year -- the coolest one, however, is Rick James Williams. Cocaine is a helluva drug.

Many of you who didn't even have children when I started this back in '06 now have children old enough to make their own picks. That's pretty cool, and it's always fun when folks make this a family thing to add some intrigue to their Holiday football-watching experience.

Baddest Bowl Pick 'Em Ever - Year 14!

Really fired up for the Buckeyes to take on Trevor Lawrence out in the desert in the CFP.

Rules haven't changed, but I'll reiterate them here anyhow: 

Entry fee is $10 and there is no limit on the number of forms you can submit.

Please try to have forms to me by Thursday, December 19th at 6:00 PM EST. I will accept forms up until kickoff at 2:00 PM Eastern on the 20th, but prefer to have them a little in advance. 

Rules are as follows: 

Pick the outright winner of all 40 Bowl Games (no point spreads), including the BCS National Championship game. 

You will assign confidence points to each selection. Assign 40 points to the pick with which you are MOST confident. Assign 1 confidence point to the pick with which you are LEAST confident. 

The participant with the most points WINS! 

S/he who finishes last will win the Angie Guidi Lack of Achievement Award, which is really hard to do. I encourage you to submit a secondary form in an attempt to finish dead last. Harder than you think, tough guy. 

Payouts will be contingent upon the number of participants and announced on Friday, December 20th.
